A Little Piece of the Southwest to Take Home
One of the best parts of being a silversmith is sharing the creative process with someone who truly appreciates the art of making something by hand.
When Brendan McMahon, a musician visiting from Australia with his family, joined me in the studio to watch his custom ingot cuff come to life, we shared more than just the making of a one-of-a-kind piece. As a musician, Brendan understood the creativity, patience, and inspiration that go into the process, that special kind of studio time when an idea becomes something real.
After returning home to Australia, Brendan sent me this wonderful video of the day, capturing the process through his own eyes and setting it to his own music. What a thoughtful way to preserve the experience!
It was a pleasure creating a piece that will always carry a little piece of the Southwest with him. Thanks, Brendan, for sharing your talent and this special memory with me.
Cheers to Brendon McMahon and his family!
We’re new fans of Brian’s music and we think you’ll love it, too.
